Humber St. Sesh, New Logo & A New Collection!

After Katie's tie dying frenzy last week, she is the tie dye Queen after all, we have been finishing off the new skater skirts; some with darker colours as well as the bright summer time colours! We have also made some more baby grows as they have been a little hit with the Topshop customers!

Humber St. Sesh is back on the 3rd of August situated in the Marina and Old Fruit Market! Here we will have our stall with a selection of 'Hull Loves' tees and baby grows. There will be live bands, acts, street food from Thieving Harry's, pop up cinema, even a silent disco and that's not even half of it! We are bringing some new designs with us including new colours and a new Bowes Threads logo! We can't wait, so come along, have a great time and stop for a little chat with me and Katie! We'll be there enjoying the atmosphere, food and hopefully the sun!

Our A/W collection is looking really strong, cannot wait to get it finished. New colours, garments and prints! Looking forward to having a photo shoot for this! It will be great!

You can get your own Threads at www.bowesthreads.com !!

Here, We GO!!

It has been a massively productive, and successful day for us ladies today! Lots of new skirts and shorts ready to have the finishing touches added!

Katie's first go with the new dyes went amazingly well, the new skirts we have look ACE! We absolutely love them and cannot wait to get them finished and into Topshop!

We have also dyed some tees with the new stuff too! They'll be so much brighter and the colours do not run either! The quality is brilliant and will only get better the more Katie uses them. She is Pro - Tie Dyer(if that is a word ;)). It's funny how little simple ideas, like using sandwich bags to separate the skirts/t-shirts never crossed our minds before! We can be a little slow at times!

Speaking of the obvious things to do! Why Sarah and I never thought to machine sew in our labels into the skirts before sewing up the waist band before now, we don't know! Even when it was written down and pinned up with our little notes we still missed it! Oops! It was around 3/4 in the afternoon when we need some sugar and brain food! Chocolate buttons were our answer today!

So four more pairs of shorts for me to finish in the morning, then moving onto the skirts with Sarah! Can't wait to get them finished and out for the Festival People, Holiday Goers and Summer Lovers!

Late night rambles with a hint of denim!

Amy here, bit of a late night ramble so here goes!

This week we have been printing on some vintage shorts. Last time, we tried bleaching with stencils, but now we have refined our technique and method in producing these shorts.

Photos like these make me realise how far us three girls have come in such a short amount of time. Little improvements such as our garment labels, new and more advanced dyes make all the hard work we put in, feel all the more rewarding.
I do love working with Sarah and Katie and I can see all three of us growing in confidence. I mean, Katie is using the sewing machine like a pro ;) I'm not getting Sarah to sort out the fiddly bits I hate and Sarah has been doing more pattern cutting, still can't get her to cut out though He he! ; ) I'm not saying we've not been able to any of that before but they can do our heads in! So we've all been stepping out of our comfort zones without realising and things are starting to benefit from it! :)

Oh, and we have stopped being so indecisive! ;)

Overall, seeing the quality of our work get better and better is AMAZZZIINNG and I am SSOOOO proud of us!!

We're hopefully getting a new work space soon too! As well as our FIRST Autmun/Winter range!

We can't forget you lovelies, we love seeing our customers happy with their garment(s), that is the best thing EVER!

Festival Envy, Psychadelic Dye and New Threads!!

We have found some new dye!! Our tees will be SOOO bright! We can't wait to use them, that is... once Katie has worked out how we use them ;) Our pretty tie dye skater skirts have been going down very well so we have decided to do more, some with a little twist as we will be using the new brighter dyes for the more adventurous ladies! Each and every one still being one of a kind!

We know the weather has been lovely and hot! But our little heads have been starting to finalise our Autumn/Winter collection! We're very excited to finish everything off and have it ready for you all when the cold returns! But lets not talk about that any more and enjoy this sun while we have it!

Our new little baby grows will be in store very soon! They the perfect little gift!

As we all have festival envy I'd like to leave you with some Tame Impala...
