This Cold Weather!

The colder weather makes us want cups of Tea... 

ALL OF THE TIME! 

Plus lots of cake, biscuits, pastries, just any kind of carbs and sugar! Just EVERYTHING! 

It just makes hand sewing much more enjoyable and easier!

Polka Dots, Velvet and Christmas!!

Our new Threads have gone down great in Topshop over the past couple of weeks! We have a two NEW skater dresses, a peach fabric with velvety black polka dots! The other is a dipped forest green speckled fabric, with an embellished waist band. They are absolutely B. E. A. Utifullll!! They will be in store on Thursday! So we will be having a big re-merchandise to make it look lovely for you all!

The pink velvet 'Minnie' skirts have nearly sold out! Not to worry though, we shall be getting more of those cut out and made up as soon as possible! No harm done if you can't wait though ;) We may also be doing them in different colours... Watch this space!

As for everybody starting their Christmas shopping, we're thinking about new t-shirt designs, things that make Christmas a unique time for Hull, Yorkshire or Britain! If anyone has any great ideas feel free to Tweet us @bowesthreads they will be much appreciated! 

As you can see Gosling will be at the top of our lists... orr Toy Story pyjamas!

Printing, Studs, and Denim!!

This week has been full of printing, samples, studs, jewels, Kings Of Leon and denim!

Katie and Sarah printed a new t-shirt which will be revealed very soon! It's a local print but it applies to the surrounding areas of Hull too! We also have a special Limited Edition printed tee on the way, only 70 will be printed! So watch this space!

The new denim jackets are coming along nicely too, they are definitely an Autumn MUST HAVE! A great wardrobe staple with a Bowes twist! We think they will look great with a little skater dress and boots! So cute!

 

We have been listening to Kings Of Leon's new album too... some great songs on there! Plus they graced our screens on Jools Holland this week! Wiittt WHhhooooo!!

Freedom Festival!

So it was Freedom Festival this weekend, the sun was out, beers were flowing and it was a great success for us! It's great to see and know that people love the 'Hull Loves' tees.

It is absolutely freeezzinngg today!! Timed to perfection as everyone is knows summer is now over! Whaaa!!! :( We don't want it to end! At least the studio won't be so much like a sweat shop now! Can't handle any more pattern cutting in that heat!

Far too hot!

We have lots to get on with this week so it's back to early starts for us now, cracking on as we're up against our deadline for the new A/W collection to be done! Our 'Dotty' dress sold out so we are very excited to get the rest into store!

New Studio, Threads and Festivals!

This week, it seems us three girls are a little run down! I was at V Festival at the weekend, AMAZING I will say, but it's left me feeling a bit alien!

BUT SO WHAT I SAW KINGS OF LEON AND BEYONCE! Sarah and Katie had a night out on Saturday, so we've all blown off a little bit of steam! This being said, this week is a bit of a chilled out one for us, as we're on top of our new A/W pieces, ready for TopShop!

We'll see how long that lasts though ;) 

Katie started working on some new print designs yesterday, not for t-shirts this time, something a little different including embellishments, cats and skulls.

We've also got some Bowes Threads hats coming, with our logo patched onto them! Looking forward to getting one myself! Me and  Sarah are starting pattern cutting on the new dresses too.

Our NEW studio is coming along quite well, the men have been hard at work!! We can't wait to be working in there and to be out of the loft, we'll be no longer banging our heads every five minutes! We'll have so much more space and everything will be in one place! 
I'm voting that we have a cork wall for Ryan Gosling, Kings Of Leon and The Weeks photos... Just saying.

Beautiful Man.

Anyway, Katie is off to Leeds Fest on Sunday, so jealous! Her friends, SKATERS, are playing. Which I'm sure will be amazing, people should check them out. But she also gets to see Tame Impala!! JEAALOOUUUSSSSSS!!! Sarah is driving there on Thursday but that's only to take Karma! Someone should donate two tickets for her.

I also saw someone in one of our Pattie Butty T-shirts! Whooo!!

Late night rambles with a hint of denim!

Amy here, bit of a late night ramble so here goes!

This week we have been printing on some vintage shorts. Last time, we tried bleaching with stencils, but now we have refined our technique and method in producing these shorts. 

Photos like these make me realise how far us three girls have come in such a short amount of time. Little improvements such as our garment labels, new and more advanced dyes make all the hard work we put in, feel all the more rewarding. 

I do love working with Sarah and Katie and I can see all three of us growing in confidence. I mean, Katie is using the sewing machine like a pro ;) I'm not getting Sarah to sort out the fiddly bits I hate and Sarah has been doing more pattern cutting, still can't get her to cut out though He he! ; ) I'm not saying we've not been able to any of that before but they can do our heads in! So we've all been stepping out of our comfort zones without realising and things are starting to benefit from it! :)

Oh, and we have stopped being so indecisive! ;)

Overall, seeing the quality of our work get better and better is AMAZZZIINNG and I am SSOOOO proud of us!!

We're hopefully getting a new work space soon too! As well as our FIRST Autmun/Winter range!

We can't forget you lovelies, we love seeing our customers happy with their garment(s), that is the best thing EVER!

Festival Envy, Psychadelic Dye and New Threads!!

We have found some new dye!! Our tees will be SOOO bright! We can't wait to use them, that is... once Katie has worked out how we use them ;) Our pretty tie dye skater skirts have been going down very well so we have decided to do more, some with a little twist as we will be using the new brighter dyes for the more adventurous ladies! Each and every one still being one of a kind! 

We know the weather has been lovely and hot! But our little heads have been starting to finalise our Autumn/Winter collection! We're very excited to finish everything off and have it ready for you all when the cold returns! But lets not talk about that any more and enjoy this sun while we have it! 

Our new little baby grows will be in store very soon! They the perfect little gift!

As we all have festival envy I'd like to leave you with some Tame Impala...
